Short but intellectually challenging.

Using readily available materials that kids and parents can enjoy recreating at home - all that are needed are pasta and clay! The 20-minute crunch time forced everyone to exercise their imagination, creativity and problem-solving skills. (Yes, including the parents.)

We first taught them the basics of having a good structure, introducing the lesson by stating the triangle is the strongest shape. This was then followed by a mock 10-minute exercise of building their preferred towers, teaching them that long beams are not as stable as those with shorter beam spans. While quadrilaterals were fun to make, triangles, as they have learned, are more stable. Clay joints with just the right amount of material were also key that their creations stand properly.
